Standard Chartered and DCS Card Centre Launch Stablecoin-Based Credit Card in Singapore
Standard Chartered is partnering with DCS Card Centre to introduce DeCard, a stablecoin-powered credit card designed to bridge the gap between traditional finance and digital assets. The card enables users to spend stablecoins for everyday transactions, mirroring the functionality of conventional credit cards while leveraging blockchain efficiency.
The bank's VIRTUAL account services and API integrations ensure real-time transaction identification and streamlined reconciliation, enhancing transparency and speed. Dhiraj Bajaj, Global Head of Financial Institutions Sales at Standard Chartered, emphasized the initiative's goal to harmonize decentralized and traditional finance.
Singapore's progressive regulatory environment provides a launchpad for the project, with plans for global expansion. DCS's 50-year legacy in payment solutions lends credibility to the venture, signaling growing institutional confidence in crypto-powered financial infrastructure.
